Does Johnny Mercer share the spotlight on this evergreen with Hampton, whom I caught in Santa Barbara, Ca., centuries ago at the Carrillo Auditorium.

This sounds like the November 10 1947 recording for Norman Granz on his Clef label, issued in UK on a Columbia EP which I have (without the original cover, alas!). My favourite version of this challenging song.

My first record, a 78 RPM. The flip side was "How High The Moon."

Thanks to the The Crux Of The Biscuit album on Zappa Records, I have found this tasty track. Thanks Frank, and thanks, Saint Alphonzo.

I thought nothing of Zappa when I first heard this. I only thought this was extremely fucking cool.
