Never heard this before. Very nice. Kay Starr also recorded an excellent rendition of this song. Thanks.

Sorry dont have the Russ Morgan version, but as I had Dots version I choose to post it. Dorothy is the only female version I know of the song. its different to morgans but nice more relaxed.

I have been trying for so long to hear this song again.  I was about five years old when I first heard it!  Lovely lyrics and melody.

I always think the original version of a song is in our minds this is a cover version. Dorothy had many people cover her songs The Inkspots for one the original singer is always the best. but this is nice too

Interesting version. Somewhere I have an acetate disk of Russ Morgan being interviewed by Barbara Welles show in September 1948 where he tells the story behind how this song came to be written and released. The disk is originally from the personal collection of Russ Morgan. I got it together with an unreleased version of this song sung live by Martha Tilton which was recorded on 15th April 1949 - again I really must post it early in the new year.

I do like this but prefer Dorothy in the later years when she used to belt out those big emotional ballads. She could do no wrong in my book
