I was 12 when my mom died in 1954....I was always afraid my dad would not wake me up for school, so I listened to the radio all night...I found WDEL in Delaware and listened to what was called N**ger music...I introduced N**ger music to the neighborhood and it spread like wildfire...The first 45 record I bought was THE GREAT PRETENDER. i am 74 and STILL listening to this music...Love it...Nothing else like it..I always think with the technology today, some of these new groups could cover these old songs and sound just as fabulous if not more.
