He was a frequent visitor at the Flying Circus in Austin when I worked with WC Clark there. Duck tape lapel, hat band and stripe down his pants legs. Odd bird for sure but really nice and not as "crazy" as he looked. I really had no idea he was such a fine songwriter at the time, sadly.
