I still have the original 1970 LP which sounds as fresh today as it did way back then.

I always loved this Jack Bruce\Peter Brown composition. I always respected Farlowe, Clemson and Hiseman. But I find this dreadful. I gave it a listen out of respect tot he song. But to me this is horrid and murders the original feel of the tune.Hate on me if you wish, I am entitled to my opinion just as the pundits here are.

People seem to be very split on the different versions of this song. I think it probably depends partly on which one you heard first. I found this album by Colosseum about 12 years ago and loved it. Never even knew this song was originally done by Jack Bruce and also recorded by Mountain til recently. I listened to the other versions and felt they were weak by comparison. This band is incredibly powerful, and Chris Farlowe is just a beast on vocals. The way he changes the melody for the line, "Oh the sun was in their eyes," is so much better in my opinion.
