Chorus:
Country roads, take me home, to the place I belong
West Virginia, mountain mama, take me home country roads
Almost heaven, West Virginia, Blue Ridge Mountains, Shanondoor River
Life is old there, older than the trees
Younger than the mountains, growin' like a breeze
(chorus)
All my memories gather 'round her, miners lay there, stranger to Blue Water
Dark and dusty, painted on the sky
Misty taste of moonshine, teardrop in my eye
(chorus)
I hear her voice in the morning, how she calls me The radio reminds me of my home far away
And driving down the road I get a feeling
That I should’ve been home yesterday, yesterday
(chorus repeats 2x)
Take me home country roads, take me home country roads
Does this not count as defamation of the state and its symbols, considering that "Country Roads" now is the official state song of West Virginia? Or is the case here the same as with flag desecration which is allowed in the US in the name of free speech?
