Eddie Harris - tenor saxophoneCedar Walton - pianoRon Carter - bassBilly Higgins - drumsPretty heavy personnel, doing a hard-swinging, almost soul jazz treatment of a rather sweet and tender movie theme.I love this stuff, and if composer Johnny Mandel got to hear it, I bet he did as well.

What an outstanding talent. Very much unappreciated, he is second to none. I have been lucky enough to see him perform many times and each time I have increased appreciation of his talent. He is very much missed in the jazz and music world.

I love the way Eddie states the melody, barely ad libbing yet it is 100 percent Eddie Harris. A bad dude. Then we get a characteristically perfect piano solo from Cedar Walton. Ron Carter and Billy Higgins fill out the rhy. section.

Eddie Harris was so hip. So cool. One of our jazz greats.

Cryin Blues, you got to tear that, also on this CD. Ray Codrington on trumpet.

Eddie Harris was the main man and still is as far as I am concerned! He was the greatest, and I miss him very much!

Very nice, thanks for uploading. I thought he was a mostly a tenor player? This sounds like alto.

My Mom bought me this album when I was 16 (1972) and i was just starting to solo on Alto sax. It is still my all time favorite album. All the cats on this LP are amazing players.
