La Bamba unkown writter , is the National Anthem of Veracruz, MExico. Andrés Huesca, played it for the first time in 1950 . later in 1958 Jhonny Rivers performed it, in the earlier 60´ english version went out as: Twist & Shout. Trini Lopez version was the most famous around 1964 onwards . shocked the world, but Rivers version was also an icon in that era.

The man knows how to cover a song and make it uniquely his own.

This is one of the first songs I figured out how to play on the guitar. That would have been when I was 16, or 17years old (1973 OR 1974!). Had it on the JOHNNY RIVERS GOLDEN HITS album! Loved it even before I got my first guitar (THANK YOU, GREG COMBS!!!!!!).
