Roads are both good and bad. They are built by entrepreneurs who wish to destroy the wilderness status of preserves for exploitation and their own enrichment. They have led empires to conquest and facilitated domination. They become choked with automobiles and contribute to pollution of the environment; however, roads also allow us to explore, to see beautiful countryside. Traveling along a road, one can see ahead a little bit of the future. A scenic road can show promise ahead and fills one with gladness and anticipation of better things to come.
