Little Girl Go home
I hear the night winds sigh
Little Girl Go home
Don’t roam the same as I
You ran away, from your home town
The city streets now have got you down
The night lights called, you found my friend
A broken heart, not your rainbows end
Little girl go home, forget your foolish pride
Little girl don’t roam, cries out the drifting tide
Don’t drift like me, where can it end
What can you see lying 'round the bend
The fields look green 'till you get there
And then you’ll find that you’ve gone nowhere
Little girl go home, go home where you belong
Run to your true love, and tell him you were wrong
You reached for stars, up in the skies
You never saw, those within his eyes
Now all you have your foolish whirl
Back to his arms that cried, little girl
Go home
Little Girl Go Home was released as the B side of Look of Love. Look of Love was the stronger of the two songs, though it made it into the top 30 on the Billboard chart. A great Jeff Barry-Ellie Greenwich song, should have gone higher on the chart.
