Always loved the solo of this song sung by Gene Pitney (1967). Have to say I love this duet. While in the UK Gene was approached by an agent to do this duet. Because of a busy schedule he almost turned it down. Marc was in America so Gene recorded his version of this song the way Marc Almond wanted him to and Marc when he returned to the UK recorded his version. From the two recordings Marc then created this finished version. Gene gives full credit to Marc for the finished result which went on to become No 1 in the UK (1989). They never met until about three months after the song was released. I am and always will be a HUGE Gene Pitney fan - a voice like no other!
