Possibly the best jazz vocal album of all time! Certainly one of my 10 desert island disks. There was only one Mark Murphy. Doubtful anyone will ever come along to even remotely come close. For all the joy, excitement and beauty you gave to this world...RIP.

Excellent! Mark really had a great knowledge of jazz and was brilliant in using his voice to convey not only bebop but many jazz idioms. For example, I love his renditions of Red Clay, Stolen Moments, and Eleanor Rigby. He was certainly and underrated singer, but those of us who knew of his music are blessed.
