Nelson Rangell - America mp3 download

I bought his very first LP(then) because I loved how the saxman appeared on the  cover. The very first note he blew told me that he was/is the man. On sax, flute (his major in training ) and piccolo he is the man. High notes played melodically and harmonically are his forte. Listen to Reasons or A House is not a Home.One of the greatest soprano saxists. Nelson is a neo-jazz purist who happens to play pop/r&b commercially without sacrificing the  jazz language.Stanley Turrentine comes to mind in that regard; their performance philosophy - not their style.

This is one of my favorite songs on his album My American Songbook. Nelson Rangell is outstanding with this song. His talent in playing flute seems almost supernatural.

One dislike? LOL What the heck is THAT person thinking?? Nelson is the man!!

Simply wonderful great music, and great that the music is heard live in Denver, close enough for us in the Steel City down south.

Is amazing that he can play all his horns so damm good. I know he excels in all, but his piccolo flute work is outstanding. And if you did not know, he can whistle with majestry. He used to play also with latinamerican singer Franco de Vita. My standing ovation for Nelson.

it you like jazz then keep supporting it and tesch your children at a young age to enjoy. americans say they love jazz,yet it is us(eeuropeans) that support jazz the most. stop listenimg to rap and rock so much and expand yourself and support jazz so it can stay forever...thank you mr. rangell for you difficult work and making it seem so easy. what a gift to have
