Truly He taught us to love one another
His law is love and His gospel is peace
O holy night
The stars are brightly shining
It is the night of the dear Savior’s birth
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
Till He appeared and the Soul felt its worth
(A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices)
(For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn)
Fall on your knees
Oh, hear the angel voices
O night divine, O night when Christ was born
O night divine, O night, O night divine
Fall on your knees
Oh, hear the angel voices
For the slave is our brother
And in His name
All oppression shall cease
With hymns of joy
In grateful chorus
Let every heart, adore His name
O night divine, O night when Christ was born
O night divine
A few years ago, BBC4 showed an old Perry Como Xmas Show with the carpenters & Rich Little. it shoulda been laughable , instead it was the best thing all season, & this haunting song was sung to perfection in it.
This song, when sung by someone , like Perry Como, who can feel it, and whose voice becomes one with the music, is magical, & can be emotional. But what was even more emotional, & what really hit home, was reading all the comments, of people remembering simple, pleasant family times, love, and the loving memories of their parents, warmly embracing them as they too grow old..God Bless You All! Your Families, & the cherished memories of your parents, & loved ones. Merry Christmas! Love & Peace in the World, for All Mankind.
