The fault is, I can find no fault in you
Assault is say it or I’ll say it for you
If we stick around, we’re sure to be looked down upon
What better way or should I say
(Alive and kicking)
Alive and kicking at the Country Club
We’re always sickening at the Country Club
A drive from nowhere leaves you in the cold
Refrigeration keeps you young, I’m told
Alive and kicking at the Country Club
We’re always sickening at the Country Club
Your limitations are our every care
Every breath you breathe belongs to someone there
At all’s two words, could they be soldered as one?
Therein lies the perfect pseudonym
To think you’ve learned to know someone and find
That you don’t know, don’t know them at all
(Alive and kicking)
Alive and kicking at the Country Club
We’re always sickening at the Country Club
A drive from nowhere leaves you in the cold
Refrigeration keeps you young, I’m told
Alive and kicking at the Country Club
We’re always sickening at the Country Club
Your limitations are our every care
Every breath you breathe belongs to someone there
Sad to see that you’re suffering
Work hard at being a something
Sad to see that you’re suffering
Work hard at being a something
Sad to see that you’re suffering
Work hard at being a something
Alive and kicking at the Country Club
We’re always strychnine at the Country Club
A drive from nowhere leaves you in the cold
Refrigeration keeps you young, I’m told
Alive and kicking at the Country Club
We’re always sickening at the Country Club
Your limitations are our every care
(Every breath you breathe belongs to someone there)
We used to dance to this at the Jaquard Club Norwich back in 1982 - such fantastic times, where has the time gone? What a brilliant song, pop perfection.
Man, I love this band. I was a CURE freak as a teen, wondering what ever happened to M Dempsey... and lo and behold he joined this group, not that I knew as I lived in a country town in Australia back then. Now as an adult, I trip upon this wonderful chest of fantastic music, with sublime bass licks and discover the vocal magic of Billy MC.... and also work out that Martha L was also in Martha and the Muffins. It all makes sense, and even though I bemoan the lowest common denominator of the internet it has also crash landed me into an awesome world. Been deep diving this bands back catalogue ever since! Thank you one and all! :-)
