Well it went swingbeat from the late 80s to early 90s then it crossed over to using autotune then into neosoul and seems to be going back to this sound again but with a heavier beat. I much prefer this era to mainstream r&b today. Saying that there are some very good artists out there today, try Incognito, Omar, Dira, The Beauty Room, Stephen Simmons, Richard Earnshaw, Drizabone, Fried, James Liddell, Carleen Anderson etc. Let me know what you think.
