There’s a world where I can go and tell my secrets to In my room, in my room
In this world I lock out all my worries and my fears
In my room, in my room
Do my dreaming and my scheming
Lie awake and pray
Do my crying and my sighing
Laugh at yesterday
Now it’s dark and I’m alone
But I won’t be afraid
In my room, in my room
In my room, in my room
In my room, in my room
Brian Wilson was a great arranger. The Beach boys could not play shit, musicianship wise. The chord structure on this song In My Room is terrific. 4 part harmony and the overall sound is brilliant. So I am not dismissing them altogether, despite the fact that they ripped off Chuck Berry and never gave him credit.
This is hands down one of the best songs I’ve ever heard! I used to lay on my parents living room floor, pop the 8 track in and slip on a pair of those obnoxiously large head phones, “in my room” would play and I would just drift away...
Their dad was a piece of shit for sure. They were all abused, I mean the whole band! He used to try to tell them how to play and sing and everything he told them was wrong because his head was messed up bad. He was a very money hungry dad. Wanted everything they stood for and made. No wonder Brian had so many mental health issues. Totally amazing tho how they persisted and made such beautiful music. Brian is a true Genius for sure. God bless you man for all you had to endure in your lifetime but know that your fans love you dearly.
