Beautiful through sad love song and one of my favorites during the sixties. It must be something very terrible and heartbreaking to be left just before the wedding night. It is something very painful which I do not wish even to my worst enemy.
Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons were the best (I say that having been born in 1977). I think it is interesting that the vocal and doo wop style of music that made them famous was much more in the tradition of vocal groups of the 1950s and early 1960s than the rock, British Invasion, Motown, and psychedelic styles that came to dominate after 1964. Nonetheless, they more than held their own with their vocal style of music for the remainder of the 1960s even after popular, comparable acts like The Four Aces, The Four Lads, The Duprees, etc. had been eclipsed.
Another Bob Gaudio composition, arrangement, albeit in this case with Bob Crewe. Without Gaudio the Four Seasons would have been the Three Seasons and we would never have heard of them.
I love Connie-O. I grew up in such a guido town & state, but I still love the Four Seasons, and I was so glad I met Frankie Valli once, at a show, in Providence, RI
