Its amazing that Curtis was just 17 years old when he wrote this fantastic song. I just discovered that there were at least 5 other people who covered this song over the years. My favorite version was done by Carlos Santana

Does anybody have any behind the scenes details on the recording session for this song? Most of their hits were recorded in Chicago at Universal Recording Studios but I think this was one was recorded in New York since it was their first hit written and sung by Curtis Mayfield I think this one was done in New York before they moved to Chicago since the credited Arranger on this track was a guy named Leroy Glover who at the time was a NY based arranger
