One of the most beautifully sad songs, actually, Come On!, even with that rousing chorus. Particularly after Velvet Morning, itself one of the most beautifully sad songs. The lyrics, the weird musical effects in parts, the desperate passion... uncopyable genius.

Urban Hymns was well known, but still undervalued. This is perhaps one of the best records ever made.

Now we all move on with our musical tastes but even tho I’ve never forgot The Verve I did forget just how good they really were. Recently I’ve become obsessed with Led Zeppelin after watching songs like Kashmir & No Quarter being played at their celebration day concert . Now I know you can’t really compare the two in regards of what they’ve bought to the table in their musical lifetimes but fuck me this song along with the whole Urban Hymns album has surely got to be up there with the best ....... hasn’t it !!
