The Minor Blues, played by Wes, in the company of Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter, and Grady Tate......and equal billing should go to producer Creed Taylor, who was smart enough to realize he was creating a market for something new, and to arranger and conductor (THE MIGHTY) Don Sebesky, whose work here actually creates the presence of a fifth player, the Orchestra, in the studio.(Incidentally, I love the cracks and pops from the original vinyl... music like this should always be listened to late at night, with such surface noise, or the static of an AM radio from a very distant, very hip station...)
the story goes he worked some where at night bought a guitar late in life taught himself and used his thumb not to make a lot of noise while the family sleptand can not read music ..lord have mercy
