So most musical parts are built from a basic groove and someone playing solo. Now in this part it seems the the basic groove by both the drummer and bass is at a (very high) solo level, so to top that Herbie must play solo at an even higher level, forcing him to go nuts. Thus the result is an insane solo that only works because of the amazing rhythm section. There is nothing like this
